An Introduction to Mindfulness

Six Weeks of Connection, Curiosity, and Calm

Tuesday Evenings | 7th April – 12th May 2026

7:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Online via Zoom (from the comfort of your favourite chair!)

What to Expect

Exploring the foundations of mindfulness and widening our circles of compassion.

In this short, introductory online course, you will dive deep into the foundations of mindfulness, build resources and create tools for supporting well-being to carry with you day-to-day. This is an inclusive, accessible, and brave space where I will share stories, guide practices, and hold space for learning, curiosity, and discussion.

With guidance, you are encouraged to build your own daily practice—even just 3 to 5 minutes a day—to start "working your meditation muscles" and experiencing these lasting benefits.

❋ In this space together, we will explore what it means to live mindfully. We’ll dive into:

  • Building Resources: Creating practical tools to support your daily mental health.

  • Widening the Circle: Expanding our capacity for compassion and curiosity.

  • Coming Home: Practicing what it feels like to settle into the "container of our own belonging."

❋ How to Join

Registration is easy through Ubindi. Simply scroll to find the first date (7th April) and sign up.

  • One-Time Sign-Up: You only need to register for the first week!

  • Save the Link: Use the same Zoom link for our entire six-week journey.

  • Recordings: To support my teaching assessment, sessions will be recorded for my mentor. These stay private within our group & my mentor—your comfort and privacy are my top priorities.

  1. Sharper Focus and Concentration: Mindfulness acts like "weightlifting" for your attention span, helping you stay present and productive without your mind wandering.

  2. Lowered Stress and Anxiety: Regular practice calms the nervous system and reduces cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone.

  3. Better Sleep Quality: By learning to quiet "racing thoughts," you can relax your body more easily at bedtime, helping you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

  4. Enhanced Emotional Balance: You will develop the ability to "pause" before reacting, helping you manage difficult emotions and reducing the tendency to overthink or ruminate on negative events.

  5. Strengthened Physical Health: Studies show that mindfulness can help lower blood pressure and may even boost your immune system, making you more resilient to common illnesses.

  6. Deeper Self-Compassion: You’ll learn to observe your thoughts with curiosity rather than judgment, fostering a kinder relationship with yourself and improved connections with others.

Common Questions
  • Absolutely! This course is designed specifically to teach you the foundations. We all start somewhere, and you are so welcome here.

  • Wonderful! Your presence and experience will add so much to our group dynamic.

  • As I am training, I feel as though I should not be charging for this course, and overheads are low. If you would like to donate - feel free to make a donation of your choice to War Child.

  • Just yourself and a stable internet connection. Whether you’re at your kitchen table or on a cushion on the floor, make sure you're comfortable. A notebook, a pen, and a warm cup of tea are always encouraged!

  • Life happens. Just drop me an email, and I’ll send you the recording so you can catch up in your own time.

  • I strive to make practice space as safe as possible. However, the term “safe” can be loaded and is also very subjective. In all honesty, a 100% “safe space” is never fully achievable but I can strive to create a safer.. And I have coined the term “brave” space from my mentor Imee as we are all demonstrating bravery by simply showing up.

  • "When we let go of our battles and open our heart to things as they are, then we come to rest in the present moment... Only in the reality of the present can we love, can we awaken, can we find peace and understanding and connection with ourselves and the world."

    Jack Kornfield

  • "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."

    Buddha

  • "Mindfulness is a pause – the space between resistance and action where we can choose to be kind to ourselves and others."

    Tara Brach
